The best waffles are made from scratch…crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. We have both a dairy free and egg free option below- enjoy with fresh fruit, Nuttelex with a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar, maple syrup or a dollop of your fave plant based ice-cream.
Buttery Waffles (Dairy Free) Method
1Mix all dry ingredients together well.
2Combine egg yolks and milk and mix into dry ingredients above, then stir in the melted Nuttelex
3 Carefully fold in whipped egg whites, do not over mix.
4Pour 1/2 cup at a time into waffle iron. Cook till set.
5Serve warm with Nuttelex, maple syrup, iced sugar and/ or fresh berries.
6If making for a few people, place in warm oven till ready to serve.
7Any left overs may be frozen.
Buttery Waffles (Vegan) Method
1Combine all ingredients in a medium bowl and whisk stir well until mixture is smooth -it will be thin and runny but that is fine
2Heat waffle maker and grease it with Nuttelex on both sides (top and bottom). Pour the batter with a ladle into the waffle iron.
3Close your waffle maker and bake the waffles for about 5 minutes until they're golden and crispy on the outside
4Serve the waffles immediately with your fave topping like plant based coconut ice-cream.
